We ONLY visited for the greek yogurt lol. Get the baklava crumbles with syrup! Service was a 10/10 and the person who helped us was friendly. This made for a nice sweet treat after dinner :) The yogurt was very tart and refreshing - what made it even better were the baklava crumbles. Not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the yogurt. The syrup was the cherry on top, though my inner sweet tooth wished there was just a bittt more syrup haha. We'll be back for more yogurt and fries!
Souvla has been in my folder to try for awhile especially their soft serve. It was pretty good but I think I prefer go Greek in LA which are similar concepts. We got the one with baklava bits and it was a good contrast. The lamb salad was refreshing however very skimpy on the lamb unfortunately. Pretty disappointing but other than that it's a casual fast service restaurant which is convenient. I don't think I would go out of my way to come back since it is an hour drive for me, but if I was in the area and needed a quick healthy bite to eat, I would keep this as an option in the back of my mind. This location does have particularly a lot of other options to walk around and check out and seems to get a lot of foot traffic with the other restaurants and stores.
First Souvla of 2025! Came around 9PM for a late dinner and ordered a chicken wrap/sandwich and greek fries. Fries were crispy as usual, but I couldn't really taste the "Greek" flavoring that I usually do. unfortunately the pita bread for the wrap also wasn't that toasted. It looked and felt barely warmed up, which although didn't ruin it, definitely took a hit when it comes to texture. Overall still an amazing meal!
Souvla can be described as a restaurant that is solely in its own category. Even though it's quote unquote fast casual dining, Souvla seems to have an aura of a more upscale restaurant. The efficiency of the wait staff paired with the simplicity of the menu makes ordering at Souvla a breeze. First, you order at the counter, they give you a number, then you sit anywhere there's a seat open. Then the wait staff brings you the food when it's ready, you can ask to hold the dessert until you're done with your meal. We got half a rotisserie chicken, a salad, potatoes, Greek beer and Greek frozen yogurt with baklava. The overall winner of the night was the dessert, it is unlike any other yogurt we've had. The tartness of the yogurt combined with the sweetness from the baklava makes it one of a kind. My other favorite was the potatoes, soaked in the rotisserie drippings, it was tender and flavored perfectly. We will be coming back, often.
I'm super conflicted! Let me tell you why... The chicken here is some of the best I've ever had!! I would have the chicken salad twice a week for lunch if they had this in Los Angeles near me. The soup was also perfect, exactly the way I love it. I couldn't believe how much the rotisserie chicken flavor came through even in the soup, it was so juicy and tender. Now the pork sandwich and fries were not good at all. The fries were very thick and not crispy, so I felt like I was eating more of a potato wedge, the Greek toppings were not coming through, they just tasted like plain fries. The pork sandwich was very difficult to eat, the bread was so thick and the pork tasted so off, which was weird because the chicken was perfection. So I absolutely loved two dishes, but absolutely hated another two. I would definitely come back when I'm back in sf, but only for the chicken! I had to ding a star due to the pork and fries. I would still recommend everyone to come try the chicken here, it's a great location, and quick and easy for lunch or dinner. I must try the frozen yogurt next time!
Souvla continues to be a top pick for me whenever I crave something fresh and satisfying in a relaxed setting. My recent visit reinforced why I keep coming back, especially for their stellar chicken salad. The salad's balance of juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken with fresh vegetables hits all the right notes. The portion was just right, leaving me satisfied without any heaviness, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a healthy yet flavorful meal. I also love that Souvla offers the unique Greek wine, retsina, which is hard to find elsewhere. Although the drinks have become a bit more pricey, I still find the experience worthwhile, particularly when enjoying the nice outdoor seating area. There's something special about savoring a light meal and a distinct wine in their lively parklet, which has ample seating for those who prefer dining al fresco. On this occasion, I couldn't resist trying the frozen Greek yogurt with baklava and honey. It was a delightful treat, with the honey adding a sweet counterpoint to the tangy yogurt. Although I enjoyed it thoroughly, I do think the yogurt could use a bit more baklava for an extra crunch. Still, it's a refreshing dessert option that I'll keep in mind for warm days when I'm in the area. Service at Souvla has always been swift and friendly, even during busy lunch hours. The staff ensures everything is up to par and diners can relax without feeling hurried. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or lingering over a conversation with friends, Souvla's inviting atmosphere and consistent food quality make it a reliable spot. Even with some price adjustments, it still tops my list for casual dining in the city.
Wanted to get a light snack and a dessert on the night of the election, so I decided to come here. The atmosphere was very lively, and the servers were very friendly as we ordered. We decided to get the Souvla Side Green Salad and the Greek Sour Cherry Syrup Frozen Greek Yogurt. The yogurt was great - it's hard to make cherry flavored items not taste like medicine, but the yogurt did a wonderful job of remaining a delicious treat that did not remind me of said medicine. I wish I could say the same for the salad, however - most of it was good, but every now and then I'd get a taste of something unbearably sweet with an intense flavor. I didn't pay too much attention to the ingredients but we were under the impression that there might've been dates, which may have been mixed up with the olives. Strangely, the person I was with mentioned that they didn't taste anything like that at all, and when I looked back at the menu I've realized that there was no mention of dates at all, and that the olives in my bowl just happened to remind me of them. Overall, this place has helped me realize that I do not like the taste of kalamata olives, which I will not hold against Souvla since it was entirely on me. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and I would be willing to come back, whether to try some of the other flavors of Greek frozen yogurt or to get food that does not remind me of dates.
There's a nice little parklet outside with three tables along a long bench, and then a bunch of bar stools around a high counter. Was feeling anti-vegetable today, so I made a meal out of a side of juicy potatoes ($5) and a side of chicken ($6). It was actually a ton of meat and a very filling meal! I really enjoyed my meal. The juicy potatoes really are super juicy, topped with lots of herbs and all the flavor and juices from the rotisserie chicken. Then I got a greek yogurt with honey. I think it's not as good as the version with baklava but I'd like to try all their flavors. Next up is olive oil and sea salt. Intriguing! Friend of mine got the half rotisserie chicken with a choice of side. The rotisserie chicken looked very tasty. I think it's the same chicken that goes into the wraps and salads. I wonder what they do with all that extra skin.
Delicious frozen yogurt with cherry syrup. The tartness of the syrup pairs very well with the creaminess and slight sourness of the yogurt. The pickup window is outside so if are walking your dog, you can order online and pickup without having to go inside. The gentleman working the counter created my frozen yogurt cup upon arrival (I ordered ahead) to make sure it was fresh. Ample places to sit outside.
